☆ CNN Poll: Most voters don’t think Trump will concede if he loses the 2024 election

Overall, just 30% of registered voters think Trump will accept the results of the election and concede if he loses, while 73% say that Vice President Kamala Harris would accept an election loss. But that rises to 20% among registered voters who support Trump, compared with only 3% who feel that way among Harris supporters. The CNN Poll was conducted by SSRS online and by telephone October 20-23, 2024, among 1,704 registered voters nationwide drawn from a probability-based panel. Likely voters include all registered voters in the poll weighted for their predicted likelihood of voting in this year’s election. Results for the full sample of registered voters have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points; it is 3.1 for likely voters, and larger for subgroups.

The billionaire has been less prominent in the election than Elon Musk — but still has much at stake. Bezos's Blue Origin is working with NASA and the Pentagon as it plays catch-up with Musk's SpaceX. Executives from Bezos' rocket company Blue Origin, including CEO Dave Limp, spoke with Donald Trump on Friday, The Associated Press reported. Like all private space companies, Blue Origin relies heavily on federal contracts and is competing with SpaceX for government and military projects. Blue Origin did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Washington CNN —Americans’ attitudes toward the economy improved this month thanks to lower interest rates. Americans’ expectations for inflation rates in the long run also edged lower this month. “This month’s increase was primarily due to modest improvements in buying conditions for durables, in part due to easing interest rates,” Joanne Hsu, director of the university’s Surveys of Consumers, said in a release. The Federal Reserve last month cut interest rates for the first time in more than four years, by a bold half point, in part thanks to inflation coming under control. Lower borrowing costs make it cheaper for American shoppers to buy durable goods such as appliances, cars and furniture, which are usually bought on credit.
