Read previewA nutrition researcher said that switching up her breakfast routine has helped her beat the 4 o' clock crash. Berry found out that her blood sugar was crashing every afternoon when she had a high-carb breakfast, which helped explain the exhaustion she'd been feeling. A high-protein breakfast can provide lasting fuelPrior to checking out her blood sugar response, Berry might have a pastry or white toast for breakfast. "An increase in circulating blood sugar is a normal physiological response to eating carbohydrate," she said. For instance, there's some evidence that eating late at night can prompt a bigger blood sugar response, but Berry said it's worth it to have dinner with her family.

New York CNN —It’s not $5, but Subway is bringing back cheap footlongs and joining the fast food value menu wars. Beginning August 26, Subway will sell any footlong sandwich for $6.99 — a steep discount considering that some footlongs can cost as much as $14 in some cities. It’s the privately held chain’s latest attempt at luring back customers who are balking at rising fast food prices and spending less when they do go out. Subway is owned by a private equity firm and doesn’t often reveal sales like its publicly traded rivals. Technomic data shows that Subway also lags in sales for sides and snacks compared to its competitors.

New York CNN —Subway’s footlong cookies were so popular they had a shortage. They use Subway’s flatbread, rolled up with pepperoni and cheese, chicken and cheese or double cheese, and served hot. The $3 rollups are part of its Sidekicks menu, adding to its successful lineup of giant cookies, churros and soft pretzels. Technomic data shows that Subway also lags in sales for sides and snacks compared to its competitors. Owned by Roark Capital, a privately held company, Subway doesn’t regularly release financial figures.

A truly great dip can create a high-stakes spectacle, one that separates the seasoned players from the rookies. There are the furtive double-dippers, the overloading chip-breakers, the celery-nibbling dip snubbers and by the fourth quarter you’re bound to see someone fumble dip onto the table, the rug or their shirts. So what’s the best dip for a Super Bowl party? My ideal dip would be something thick and creamy enough to cling to your chip but not so gluey it sticks to your teeth (or the rug). Hot and oozing is nice, especially in February, and I’m partial to bubbling, melty dips with sweeping cheese pulls.

Holding down multiple jobs has long been a backbreaking way for low-wage workers to get by. They freeze their employment histories with Equifax and hibernate their LinkedIn profiles, so employers can't see they're holding multiple jobs. Those with multiple jobs also seek out positions they hope will be OE-friendly — light on meetings, as well as on the workload. There's another incentive: Unlike most Americans, those who work multiple jobs don't have to worry about layoffs. There's something radical that happens to a worker's psychology when they have multiple jobs.

An employee working for a competitor — or even worse, leveraging confidential information — is a problem. Some Americans are secretly working multiple remote jobs. AdvertisementAdvertisementOne of your co-workers could be secretly working multiple remote jobs to boost their finances. But holding two remote jobs could breach some employment contracts and lead to job termination. But it could become more popular as the remote work revolution provides additional opportunities for Americans to take on more work. "Clearly, if people can work multiple jobs at the same time, then I need to redefine their role to be more rigorous," she said.
