On Wednesday, after 41 days on strike, the UAW and Ford reached a tentative agreement. The Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan is where Ford Chairman and fourth generation controlling family member Bill Ford spoke about negotiations for the first-time last week. That speech perturbed UAW President Shawn Fain, who responded with a threat. What comes nextGetting the deal done with Ford was a big hurdle, according to a third source with knowledge. The Ford CEO said the deal the UAW was looking for would bankrupt the company.

Targeted, or bottleneck, strikes are an alternative to national actions in which the union only strikes select plants. Targeted strikes typically focus on key plants that can then cause other plants to cease production due to a lack of parts. They include initiating targeted strikes at select plants and then potentially increasing the number of strikes based on the status of the negotiations. "We will strike all three companies, a historic first, initially at a limited number of targeted locations that we will be announcing. While "historic," the targeted strikes could have unintended ripple effects.

Donald Trump's lawyers settled a lawsuit brought by protesters at the 11th hour. He faced a likely hostile jury pool notorious for awarding high damages compared to juries in Manhattan or Long Island. Other still images appear to show a protester grabbing a security team member, suggesting Trump's lawyers may have argued he was acting in self-defense. Former President Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at Minden-Tahoe Airport on October 08, 2022 in Minden, Nevada. Cohen also said Trump's lawyers failed to disclose he had knowledge of the day's events, even though they were supposed to.
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday reached a settlement with a group of protesters who filed a lawsuit alleging they were assaulted by his security guards outside of Trump Tower in 2015, lawyers for both sides said. We are very pleased with this outcome and are happy to finally put this matter to rest once and for all.”The suit stems from an incident in September 2015, when a group protesting then-candidate Trump’s comments about Mexican immigrants allege Trump’s security guards assaulted them on the sidewalk outside Trump’s Fifth Avenue building. The suit charges that Trump’s head of security punched one of the protesters in the head while trying to wrest away his “Make America racist again” sign. Trump’s testimony that he was in the dark about what his security officers were doing was disputed by his former lawyer Michael Cohen during his own videotaped deposition earlier this year. That testimony was also going to be played for the jury in the now-canceled trial.
Jury selection begins Monday in a civil trial for a group of protesters who are suing former President Donald Trump and his company over allegations that they were assaulted by security personnel outside Trump Tower in New York in 2015. Five protesters filed the suit against Trump, the Trump Organization and his presidential campaign in 2015 after they said they were roughed up outside of Trump Tower while protesting comments then-candidate Trump made about Mexicans. Trump sat for a videotaped deposition in the case in October 2021, which will be played in court and will serve as his trial testimony. That testimony was later refuted by former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen during his own videotaped deposition. Like Trump, Cohen will not appear in person at the trial, but lawyers will play his four-hour videotaped deposition for the jury as his trial testimony.
Trump's deposition is Wednesday in E. Jean Carroll's lawsuit. She says Trump raped her in Manhattan 30 years ago, then defamed her by calling her a liar in 2019. The court-ordered deposition in writer E. Jean Carroll's rape defamation lawsuit is also expected to take place at Mar-a-Lago, the New York Times reported. Trump has fought hard to get out of the Carroll deposition and the lawsuit itself. In the post, he doubles down on his denials that he raped Carroll and that "This woman is not my type!"
Trump is the key witness in the New York attorney general's inquiry into the Trump Organization. She was Donald Trump's ex-wife and the mother of Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, as well as Eric Trump. Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump — both of whom have served as Trump Organization executive vice presidents — sat for their depositions in the past week. On Friday, lawyers for the Trump Organization and for Allen Weisselberg, the company's former longtime chief financial officer, are scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing at the courthouse. A judge has promised to set a trial date for the Trump Organization and Weisselberg to stand trial over accusations that they played roles in a decadelong payroll-tax scheme.
