Wipro will prioritise employees with lower compensation among those eligible for a raise, Bandaru highlighted, adding that "top performers with higher compensation may not be covered in this cycle". Wipro, which had 244,707 employees as of Sept. 30, had already delayed its salary hike cycle. Some industry watchers said the move echoed a larger trend in the tech industry as it tried to address pay inequities among regions and cut payroll costs. While Infosys (INFY.NS) delayed giving hikes by two quarters, HCL (HCLT.NS) skipped hikes for managers.

SAP Labs India Managing Director Sindhu Gangadharan hopes the Indian unit will scale up its share of global SAP patents to 50% from 25% currently, she said in an interview on the sidelines of an event in Bengaluru. BENGALURU, Sept 13 (Reuters) - India's Aeroflex Industries (AERO.NS), whose metal hoses are used in utilities, refineries and fire fighting equipment, is in talks to enter the aerospace sector, a top company executive said, aiming to capitalise on the country's burgeoning space program. "It is our aim that our products be a part of India's next space mission," Aeroflex Managing Director Asad Daud told Reuters in an interview last week. While HAL and BHEL are existing clients, the ongoing talks are a first for specific space-related projects, he said. Aeroflex expects its total revenue to increase by 35% in the next three to four years, with at least 5% coming from aerospace, Daud said. Aeroflex has three Chinese suppliers that, currently, meet 70%-75% of its needs for their coils.

A delay of about four months in the issue of visas would hamper the speed at which its factory reaches peak production levels, Sharma said. Log9's Bengaluru factory, its only manufacturing unit currently, has an annual installed capacity of 250 MWh of battery production. Log9 has sold over 1,000 battery units so far in 2023 after clocking sales of 4,000 units last year, according to Sharma, who declined to disclose the production figures. The company will begin the next funding round by the end of this year or early next year, Sharma said.

June 7 (Reuters) - Diageo (DGE.L) on Wednesday said long-time boss Ivan Menezes, who held the CEO role at the world's biggest spirits company for 10 years, had died after a brief illness. The 63-year-old, who was set to retire at the end of this month, was in hospital receiving treatment for conditions including a stomach ulcer, the Johnnie Walker whisky maker announced this week. British-American national Menezes, born in the Indian city of Pune, joined Diageo after its formation through the merger of Guinness and Grand Metropolitan in 1997. The executive, who was behind the "Keep Walking" campaign for Johnnie Walker when he was marketing head, previously held roles at Whirlpool and Nestle. Menezes, who was awarded a knighthood this year, is survived by his wife and two children.

The cash-strapped carrier, India's third-biggest and best known as Go First, filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday, blaming "faulty" Pratt & Whitney (P&W) engines for the grounding of about half its fleet. IndiGo has also had to ground planes because its P&W engines faced problems, but its bigger fleet with diverse engines, and its deeper pockets, meant it could overcome the troubles better than Go First.
