Singapore CNN —A Chinese boarding school designed to let students unwind and “waste time mindfully” has been named 2023’s World Building of the Year. Designed by Approach Design Studio and the Zhejiang University of Technology Engineering Design Group, the serene campus’ communal areas are intended to blur the distinction between inside and out. New Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s transition plan called for “restricting right turns on red,” but his administration hasn’t provided specifics. A bullet train departed from Fuzhou, the capital of east China's Fujian province Thursday morning, setting up the opening of the 277-km (172-mile) Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou railway, Xinhua reported. China recently announced details of its plan to turn Fujian into a zone for integrated development with Taiwan, which sits opposite the province. When Stephan Weishaupt began looking for a weekend home outside Toronto, buying a 19th-century log cabin was the furthest thing from his mind. Mr. Weishaupt, the founder of Weishaupt Design Group and the president of a furniture company called Avenue Road, had long been focused on all things modern. When a friend told him about a 100-acre property with rolling hills, forests and ravines in Caledon East, Ontario, he was interested only in the land. “I walked some of the trails and fell in love with it,” Mr. Weishaupt, 45, said. But “the roof was sagging, and it was in dire need of repair,” Mr. Weishaupt said.

Prototypes of the Reality Pro feature "in-air" typing based on hand and eye movements, Bloomberg said. The launch of the Reality Pro would mark Apple's first big step into metaverse technology. Both The Information and Bloomberg have reported that Apple's Reality Pro will retail at around $3,000 upon launch, which is expected later in 2023. Apple had a breakthrough on a revolutionary blood glucose monitor, according to Bloomberg. It's a monitor that can continually measure a person's blood glucose levels without as much as a skin prick, according to Bloomberg. Instead, Apple's monitor will use optical absorption spectroscopy, a measurement process that relies on wavelengths of light to ultimately determine glucose levels, Bloomberg said. The project is part of the company's Exploratory Design Group, XDG, which is reportedly one of the most undercover initiatives at the company, Bloomberg reported. Before E5 was incorporated into XDG, it was reportedly operating under a startup called Avolonte Health LLC, Bloomberg reported.
