An Arizona man has been charged with attempted murder after officials say he tried to kill a child safety case worker during a discussion about his child.
Deandre Terrell Johnson, 32, attempted to strangle a Department of Child Safety case worker “until the victim lost consciousness” after a meeting involving his daughter, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said.
An attorney listed for Johnson in the indictment was not immediately reached for comment on Friday afternoon.
Johnson has been charged with attempt to commit first-degree murder; aggravated assault and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
Attempts to reach a representative with the Department of Child Safety were unsuccessful Friday.
