CNN —This year’s Belmont Stakes is under threat as wildfire smoke originating from Canada continues to spread across the US. The New York Racing Association (NYRA) postponed Thursday’s schedule at Belmont Park and said racing would only be authorised if conditions improved. Parts of the East Coast are expected to continue to suffer poor air quality until at least the weekend. How to watchThe Belmont Stakes will take place on Saturday at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The win made Baffert the winningest trainer in Preakness Stakes history, having now had eight horses win the race.
