Nods to the event’s dress code, JG Ballard’s 1962 short story “The Garden of Time,” came in all forms. Wisdom Kaye's Robert Wun suit included a corsage, burnt at the edges like the lapels of his overcoat and hat. Coleman Domingo similarly finished off his billowing Willy Chavarria suit with black-rimmed eyes and a drooping bunch of wistful white lilies. Barry Keoghan's Burberry suit came with a satin necktie, top hat and three watches. Washington CNN —Barack Obama spent several hours last Friday in the family dining room of the White House, visiting his former vice president, Joe Biden. Obama’s biggest embrace of Biden’s reelection effort comes Thursday at a star-studded Manhattan fundraiser featuring Biden, Obama and former President Bill Clinton. As president, Biden has also been in frequent touch with Clinton, sources familiar say. “President Obama once said to me that every president is a reflection of the previous president, and he’s right,” Messina said. “Trump was the complete opposite of Obama, and Biden is the complete opposite of Trump.

Just beyond the room, about 200 celebrities, fashion designers and media figures were packed tightly into a light-blue ballroom in the mansion. The night before, Mr. Adams hosted a different event on the other side of Central Park. “The crisis, not the people, the crisis is undermining the economic strength of our city,” he said. “The people want to come here to work, and their inability to do so, they can’t contribute to the city. It’s going to impact our police, it is going to impact our streets, it is going to impact everything in our city.”“And it is just wrong for New York City residents, taxpayers,” he continued.

Throughout his career, former President Barack Obama has had the chance to meet — and work with — some of the world's most successful people, from tech billionaires to Nobel Prize laureates. But if you are passionate about your job, and have a genuine interest in the work that you do, you'll set yourself up to have "an extraordinary career," Obama said. "You can't let your failures define you — you have to let your failures teach you," he said. No one's born being good at all things … you become good at things through hard work." 1 company to work for in the U.S., according to new research from LinkedIn: For the third year in a row, Amazon has claimed the top spot on the networking platform's annual Top Companies list, followed by Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase. Meta, which ranked twelfth on LinkedIn's list last year, was not eligible for this year's list after announcing it was eliminating approximately 13% of its workforce in November 2022. Just last month, Amazon told its staff the company would lay off 9,000 more employees in the coming weeks. 1 on LinkedIn's list for the third consecutive year. Amazon maintained its top spot after making a "significant investment" to support employees' upskilling and raise salaries, says Roth.
Salesforce, Compass, and Amazon recently laid off thousands of what they called "low performers." What's more, a tight job market means that hiring managers can't afford to be so choosy. But as we enter the new year, and recession fears mount, the continued strength of tech hiring is an open question. Still, recruiters say that candidates laid off by virtue of supposedly poor performance are not disqualified from consideration — far from it. Some recruiters say they take an empathetic approach based on personal experience.
LinkedIn ghostwriters told Insider they had seen a surge in demand for their services this year. LinkedIn ghostwriters say they've seen demand for their services surge higher in the months since Insider first reported on the rapidly growing trend this spring. Horstmeyer partly attributed the increased interest in her services to heightened awareness around LinkedIn ghostwriting as a practice. Pricing for LinkedIn ghostwriting services varies widely, although generally ranges from $2,500 to $10,000 a month. Holly Crawshaw, another Atlanta-based writer who splits her time between ghostwriting LinkedIn content and manuscripts, said she has also seen demand for Linkedin ghostwriting soar in 2022.
