An Israeli-designed radar system encircling the island can detect passersby, in low visibility, from half a mile away. Often described as "butlers with badges," the Indian Creek police force is unlike most of its counterparts. The Indian Creek radar can detect objects on the water and use artificial intelligence to classify them according to the risk they pose. With the new security system, the Indian Creek police appear to have turbocharged their enforcement of regulations in the surrounding waters. Properties in the neighborhood are also being bought up by opaquely named LLCs tied to Indian Creek residents.

CNN —Eugene “Mercury” Morris, two-time Super Bowl champion with the Miami Dolphins and linchpin of the team’s perfect 1972 season has died, his son Troy-Jeffrey Morris announced on social media on behalf of the family Sunday. Morris rushed for a career-best 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns in the 1972 perfect season. Overall, NFL teams are currently averaging 21.4 points per game, the fifth straight year the scoring average has decreased, and the lowest points per game total since 2006. Last season, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the NFL with 4,624 yards, the lowest total for a passing yards leader since 2017. There are several theories as to why the passing game has been muted and scoring numbers have decreased. But it’s not only that teams are playing more Cover 2, the problem may also be that modern NFL teams are worse at attacking what is not a novel concept. Obviously, there is far from any consensus on why exactly NFL offenses have slowed down.

☆ ‘Billions’ of golf balls could be lost every year. Where do they end up?

Found Golf Balls CEO Shaun Shienfield, whose company recovers and resells millions of lost balls across the US and Canada each year, told CNN that he gauged the average to be between three and four each round. Using Shienfield’s low estimate, that’s over 1.5 billion balls lost in the US every year since 2020. “While precise global estimates are challenging … the worldwide figure could easily exceed 3 to 5 billion golf balls lost each year,” Petersen told CNN. Mitchell Schols, founder of Canada-based Biodegradable Golf Balls, put a “very conservative” estimate for North America at one million balls lost to oceans annually. One UK-based man told CNN in 2015 that he could earn up to £100,000 (about $114,000) annually by diving to retrieve golf balls from lakes on golf courses.
