CNN —Tornadoes and flooding spawned by severe thunderstorms tore through parts of Oklahoma overnight, leaving at least six people injured and shredding homes and other properties. The National Weather Service issued warnings for parts of both states Sunday afternoon. The severe weather is expected to move from west to east Sunday, the weather service said. Tornadoes were reported just east of Oklahoma City, and tornado and thunderstorm warnings were in place through early morning in the Oklahoma City area, the weather service said. Cue’s father, who moved to Oklahoma City from Kansas about two years ago, was also injured when the roof collapsed on him.

CNN —Burnt ends, whole hogs, smoked brisket or dry-rub ribs? Few foods stir more debate than barbecue, and a new museum opening next year aims to look at all aspects of beloved barbecue culture. Set to open in spring 2025, the museum will occupy a 4,223-square-foot space at Crown Center shopping center in Kansas City. There you can sample the namesake burnt ends, once notably described as “burned edges of the brisket.”Burnt ends are a Kansas City specialty. Danny Edwards BLVD BBQ serves “a burnt ends plate with smoky bits of brisket,” and you’ll want the sweet potato fries on the side.

Four days after 40 workers became trapped in a Himalayan road tunnel, the Indian authorities were still trying on Thursday to find a way through debris and rescue them, as anguished family members and colleagues protested outside to demand faster action. Communication was severed, leaving the men to wait inside, unsure of what would happen. In the hours afterward, officials established contact with the workers by sending radios through an undamaged pipe into the tunnel. The authorities have said the men are safe inside the tunnel. Officials put dozens of rescuers to work around the clock to remove debris using drilling equipment and excavators.

First the $43 billion iron ore miner’s CEO, Fiona Hick, left abruptly on Sunday, barely six months after joining. But in trying to shrug off the mounting exodus, founder and Executive Chair Andrew Forrest, also known as Twiggy, introduces a new risk: reverse greenwashing. His approach to the energy transition is forcing a lot of change on the company in short order. That process surely would have involved rigorous discussions to ensure they were on board with Forrest’s goals and methods. June 19 (Reuters) - Australian miner Fortescue Metals (FMG.AX) is expanding its battery and electric powertrain production operations in the UK with a new plant in Oxfordshire, its green power arm Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) said on Monday. The Banbury facility will open in 2024 and operate alongside Fortescue’s other Oxfordshire facilities including the Kidlington factory which will open later this year, FFI said in a press release. The new plant will focus primarily on manufacturing of heavy industry, electric and zero-emission powertrain systems and will offer automated assembly for battery modules and packs.
