Telemundo announcer Andrés Cantor couldn't keep his emotions back during Argentina's intense World Cup final win on Sunday. Argentina are champions of the world," Cantor said, breaking into tears as he shouted his elongated "goal" call in Spanish, which has made him famous around the world. "It was a roller coaster of emotion," Cantor told NBC's "TODAY" show hosts Craig Melvin and Hoda Kotb in an interview Monday morning. Cantor had seen Argentina become World Cup champions in 1978 and in 1986, but its most recent win was 36 1/2 years in the making, he explained. "I told him, 'Son this might be it,'" Cantor told Melvin and Kotb as he began to get emotional.
“TODAY” show weatherman and anchor Al Roker has been readmitted to the hospital after revealing last month he was treated for blood clots. “It was wonderful hosting the celebration, but, of course, we all wished that Al could’ve been with us,” Kotb said. “Al Roker-- hurry back to us... counting the days xoxoxo,” Kotb wrote. Roker took some time off following the diagnosis, and returned to the “TODAY” show with a clean bill of health. “It was this great relief,” he told “TODAY” viewers at the time.
CNN —Al Roker’s “Today” family is sending him love after he has been readmitted to a hospital. His colleague Hoda Kotb mentioned on air Thursday morning that it was wonderful hosting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last week, but “we all wish that Al could have been with us.”The famed “Today” meteorologist missed the event for the first time in 27 years as he was recovering from a blood clot in his leg having traveled to his lungs. Kotb said on Thursday that “due to some complications” Roker was back in the hospital and “and he’s in very good care.”“He’s resting and his doctors are keeping a close eye on him,” she said. “So very #thankful to be able to be home for #thanksgiving #dinner with #family,” the caption read on a pair of family photos posted. CNN has reached out to reps for Roker for comment.
CNN —Al Roker has revealed he has been recently hospitalized and receiving treatment for blood clots. “After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery,” he added. Roker signed off with, “Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. “It’s hard to slow down Al but he’s on the mend and he’s on the way to recovery,” Guthrie added. “I don’t know if he watches this show but we love you, Al.
BAMBERG, S.C. — Pamela Pinckney was in the hospital, bruised and in pain from several broken bones, when a lawyer named Alex Murdaugh offered his help. Pinckney estimates Murdaugh and his alleged co-conspirators pocketed $1 million owed to her family. Pamela Pinckney remained hospitalized as she endured several operations. Alex Murdaugh told me and my entire Pinckney family that he has our best interests, we don’t have anything to worry about and we’re like family to him,” Pinckney said. Alex Murdaugh is escorted out of the Collation County Courthouse in Walterboro, S.C., on July 20, 2022.
The upcoming film is the brainchild of Billy Eichner, the comedic mind behind “Billy on the Street” and “Difficult People.” Eichner both stars in and co-wrote the Judd Apatow-produced movie. Eichner plays his typical self-deprecating, cynical protagonist, a podcast host named Bobby who has pretty much given up on finding anyone tolerable to date. “I wanted it to be personal, and it’s all about being vulnerable and telling an honest story.”Both Eichner and Macfarlane said they hope straight people will watch and enjoy their gay rom-com — just like gay people have long watched and enjoyed straight love stories. “As a gay man, I’ve watched those movies, and I cried and I laughed, and I took something away from it,” Macfarlane said of straight rom-coms. “So I think maybe asking some of our straight friends to watch a gay couple fall in love and cry and laugh and take something from it, too.
The talks are leading to speculation about potential changes for CBS star anchors Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell. CBS News is mulling changes to its talent lineup. One plugged-in TV executive hears that CBS is looking to create a broader or cross-company deal for King, though. CBS News is also circling NBC talent including MSNBC host Brian Williams and "Today" co-anchor Craig Melvin. A CBS executive shot down speculation, saying: "No one on that list is moving forward into an anchor job here, and Bill Whitaker already has one of the best anchor jobs in the business."
