On the campaign trail, both Trump and Kennedy have pitched a “Make America Healthy Again” movement. However, he wasn’t sure how Warp Speed would apply to childhood chronic diseases — or in what way Kennedy would be helpful. If the plan goes forward, Kennedy’s mandate would be an “all-of-government-project” and allow him to marshall resources from all of these agencies for childhood chronic disease. What’s still to be determined, Altman said, is how much — if any — authority the Warp Speed role would give Kennedy to command agencies such as the FDA or CDC. Trump transition co-chair Howard Lutnick also praised Kennedy in an interview with CNN Wednesday night, and questioned whether vaccines are actually safe.

SpaceX has sued the California Coastal Commission. Legal experts said Musk will need to prove the commission would have granted the flights, if not for Musk's politics. In the lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California, Musk's SpaceX accused the commission of '"unconstitutional overreach" after members criticized his political leanings during a meeting about whether to approve more frequent SpaceX launches off the California coastline. "But if a court concludes that it's more likely than not that the result would have been different but for Musk's speech, then there would be a violation," said Volokh. New York CNN —Elon Musk’s SpaceX has accused a California regulator of political discrimination after it voted to block the rocket company from conducting more launches on the state’s central coast. SpaceX also conducts commercial launches from the base to deliver its Starlink satellites into orbit. But the California Coastal Commission opposed the plan. At the meeting, commissioners “raised other concerns wholly unrelated to coastal effects,” SpaceX alleged in the complaint, filed in California Central District Court. Joshua Smith, public information officer for the California Coastal Commission, told CNN the agency declined to comment on the lawsuit.

SpaceX compared itself to another space company in its lawsuit against a California agency. Phantom Space CEO Jim Cantrell, a longtime colleague of Elon Musk, supports SpaceX. AdvertisementCantrell told BI that the company got approval for 12 launches at a separate Space Launch Complex at the base. The space rocket company says in the lawsuit that the commission was trying to "unlawfully regulate space launch programs" at Vandenberg military base. Driesen pointed out that SpaceX's lawsuit emphasizes an administrative law claim that federal law prohibits the commission from interfering in the company's launch plan.

Mousa Salem/Anadolu Agency/Getty ImagesA United Nations inquiry has accused Israel of carrying out a “concerted policy” of destroying the health care system in Gaza during its year-long conflict with Hamas in attacks it said amount to war crimes. The Israeli attacks resulted in “fuel, food, water, medicines and medical supplies not reaching hospitals, while also drastically reducing permits for patients to leave the territory for medical treatment,” it said. Israel has released footage they say is evidence of those Hamas operations. The commission previously alleged that both Israel and Hamas committed war crimes in the early stages of the Gaza war, and that Israel’s actions also amounted to crimes against humanity.

CNN —A United Nations inquiry has accused Israel of carrying out a “concerted policy” of destroying the health care system in Gaza during its year-long conflict with Hamas in attacks it said amount to war crimes. Israel’s actions in the besieged Palestinian enclave “constitute the war crimes of willful killing and mistreatment and the crime against humanity of extermination,” the commission said in a statement Thursday. The Israeli foreign ministry rejected “accusations of widespread ill-treatment and torture of detainees,” saying Israel is “fully committed to international legal standards” on treatment of detainees. “Children in particular have borne the brunt of these attacks, suffering both directly and indirectly from the collapse of the health system,” she said. Of the many allegations against TikTok brought by a group of attorneys general, one stands out for its focus on the company's abusive use of its virtual currency. That currency "substantially harms children," and the livestreaming feature "exploits them financially," according to the lawsuit. Through TikTok's system, children buy the virtual tokens — TikTok Coins — with real money, and the company gets 50% of the revenue from the purchases, the lawsuit says. The suit says that TikTok "extracts" a commission of up to 50% from these exchanges without having obtained the necessary license. "If you make it look pretty and joyful and kind of innocent looking … it makes it easier to manipulate the children," Robins said.
