In search of connection, young people are spending on gym memberships, social clubs, and art classes. Most said they spend more on social activities than pre-pandemic. All but three said they're spending more money now than they were before the pandemic on social activities such as art classes and gym memberships to make friends. The software engineer said he's increased his investment in social activities after struggling to make friends at work. Other Gen Zers told Insider they made connections through free gallery events, volunteering, and joining book clubs.

The Future of Rap Is Female As their male counterparts turn depressive and paranoid, it’s the women who are having all the fun. In the mid-’80s, the dynamics shifted slightly, when UTFO released “Roxanne, Roxanne,” a comical torch song dissing a woman who rejected the men’s advances. Like good sex, raunchy rap is only fun if all parties are completely enthusiastic, and this music provides necessary female perspectives to match what the men make. In Miami one weekend in late July, Rolling Loud, one of the biggest annual hip-hop festivals, made itself into a microcosm of the rap world. There’s a relentless gender pessimism in the air, too — on the street, on dating apps, in the Supreme Court and, of course, in rap music.

CNN —The tragic shooting death of rapper Takeoff has prompted several stars to take to social media to honor the fallen artist. Takeoff, who was part of the successful group Migos, died early Tuesday morning after shots were fired at a Houston, Texas bowling and pool hall. Ja Rule aired his grievances surrounding Takeoff’s violent death on Twitter, writing, “this sh*t has to STOP… sending love to friends and family”. Gucci Mane, who recently collaborated with Takeoff on the track “Us vs. Them,” wrote on Instagram, “This broke my heart” upon learning the news. Kelly Rowland shared an Instagram Story in which she exclaimed, “There are NO WORDS” over a news snippet about Takeoff’s death.
