Bain has been interviewing investment banks to hire financial advisers that will help the private equity firm come up with a plan to cash out on its majority stake in Varsity Brands, the sources said. Varsity Brands generates more than $400 million in 12-month earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, the sources added, asking not to be identified because the matter is confidential. Varsity Brands and Bain declined to comment. Varsity Brands consists of two main businesses, BSN SPORTS and Varsity Spirit. Varsity kept the yearbooks business when it sold Herff Jones to private equity firm Atlas Holdings earlier this year.

Neptune Retail to buy Coupons.com-parent for $430 mln

June 20 (Reuters) - Retail marketing firm Neptune Retail Solutions will acquire Coupons.com-parent Quotient Technology (QUOT.N) for $430 million in cash, the companies said on Tuesday. Quotient's shares jumped about 17% in the early session and were trading 9 cents shy of the $4 offer price. Its clients include some of the world's biggest consumer companies such as Kellogg's (K.N) and Coca-Cola (KO.N). Private investment firm Charlesbank Capital Partners, which is a major shareholder of Neptune, will be the majority investor in the combined company. Houlihan Lokey is serving as a financial adviser to Quotient, while PJT Partners is advising Neptune.

Insight Partners to acquire stake in software firm Aptean

Oct 10 (Reuters) - New York-based private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners will acquire a minority stake in Aptean, the business software firm said on Monday. Existing investor TA Associates has also invested, Aptean said, making the investment firm its largest shareholder. Charlesbank Capital Partners, a private investment firm that joined TA Associates and Vista Equity as stakeholder in 2020, will continue to be a shareholder, Aptean said. The investment firm then merged CDC Software with Consona Corp to form Aptean.
