Super Micro said revenue for the quarter came in at $3.66 billion, up from the $3.06 billion expected by analysts, according to LSEG (formerly known as Refinitiv). Freer’s rise to riches was a classic Gilded Age story. Born in Kingston, N.Y., in 1854, he made a fortune in railcar manufacturing, and by his mid-40s he could step back from business.
