It has been almost two years since Josh and Melissa (Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong ) stumbled into the enchanted world of Schmigadoon, where “Oklahoma!” seemed to have collided with “Carousel,” and the Wells Fargo Wagon was always a-comin’ down the street. At the risk of being oxymoronic, it was a highly original parody. At the risk of profaning a wonderful show, the second season is even better. Melissa got it right away; Josh was a skeptic. But he was won over so completely that, as season 2 begins, Josh is the one who suggests that the couple take their static and as-yet-childless marriage back to the world of virtual nonstop happiness, where even that annoying leprechaun ( Martin Short ) can’t bum him out.

"Saturday Night Live's" final show of 2022 doubled as a send-off for Cecily Strong, who exited amid her 11th season and as one of the longest-tenured female cast members. Amid speculation she would depart before the 48th season started in fall, Strong stayed on. Her original characters on the show included Cathy Anne, "Weekend Update" anchor Michael Che's chain-smoking neighbor, which she reprised Saturday in a goodbye sketch. “Saturday Night Live” returned after the holiday break with host Keke Palmer making a big announcement: She is having a baby! Palmer confirmed the news by unveiling her baby bump during her animated monologue talking about her big year starring in “Nope” and being nominated for an Academy Award, which she quickly acknowledged didn’t actually happen. Palmer, 29, is expecting with her boyfriend, Darius Daulton, the brother of “Insecure” star Sarunas Jackson. Palmer said she knew rumors of her pregnancy had been spreading, so much so that people had congratulated her. Palmer also poked fun at Drake in a sketch focusing on women –“United Tingz of Aubrey” –who previously dated Drake.
