David ZaitzProtecting the rich diversity of flora and fauna across the 140,000-acre ranch is at “the heart of everything” at Silvies, Campbell says. “We figured when we built it that we had the lowest carbon footprint of any modern course,” Campbell added. Not all courses situated within flourishing natural settings are so fortunate – one Arizona club’s run-in with a squadron of pig-like creatures last year cost it upwards of $200,000 in damages. To me, one unexpected food is at the top of the list of traditional ingredients: honey. On Ikaria, it's considered one of the island's secret ingredients for longevity, and many Ikarians start their day with a spoonful. When I'm in the States, I shop for Greek honey either in local Greek and Middle Eastern food stores or online. Instagram beat TikTok not only in growth, but sheer volume of app downloads in 2023: Instagram had 767 million while TikTok had 733 million. One reason is Threads, the newly launched Twitter competitor, which requires an Instagram account and may have prompted some people who were curious about Threads to re-download Instagram. The Daily Hunt for Food in GazaFor two million hungry Gazans, most days bring a difficult search for something to eat. Amany Mteir, 52, scours the streets north of Gaza City, where people sell or trade what food they have. The war, including Israel’s bombardment and siege, has choked food imports and destroyed agriculture, and nearly the entire population of Gaza relies on scant humanitarian aid to eat. Most food shops in northern Gaza are damaged or closed, so vendors set up informal street markets to sell food and other items. An average of just six commercial trucks carrying food and other supplies have been allowed to enter Gaza each day since early December.

5 tips for navigating childhood obesity

Editor’s note: Season 9 of the podcast “Chasing Life With Dr. Sanjay Gupta” explores the intersection between body weight and health. With children, doctors define obesity a bit differently than they do with adults. Severe obesity is having a BMI equal to or greater than the 120th percentile. “Most people who are heavy by the age of 5 or 6 will tend to continue to have problems with body weight throughout adolescence and into adulthood,” Yanovski said. “We know that those individuals will therefore accrue the greatest risks from their higher body (fat) because they’re going to continue to have high body weight throughout the years,” he said.
