New York CNN —Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt resigned from his contributing columnist role at The Washington Post on Friday after storming off the newspaper’s live show over a disagreement with his colleagues. “No election can be fair in Donald Trump’s mind unless Donald Trump wins it,” Marcus said before Hewitt interjected. It’s got to be reported — Bucks County was reversed by the court and instructed to open up extra days because they violated the law and told people to go home,” Hewitt said. “So yes, he’s upset about Bucks County, but he was right, and he won in court. Though Joe Biden’s debate performance last week was among the most painful things I’ve ever witnessed, it at least seemed to offer clarity. Suddenly, even many people who love this president realized that his campaign has become untenable. In the debate’s miserable aftermath, there was finally space to acknowledge the obvious: Biden is too old for this. “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced,” James Baldwin wrote. Since then, however, the Biden campaign has quickly moved to squash that reckoning, framing the divide in the Democratic Party as one between naïve, hysterical outsiders and savvy, resolute insiders.

Many Democrats, along with foreign leaders who the US counts as allies, say Israel’s actions clearly cross a red line – if not Biden’s, then their own and those of international law. Would that be a red line?” MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart asked during an interview. His answer, with its incomplete sentences, did not state what might constitute a violation of the red line or what his response would be. “I went over the red line issue, which I know is the obsession of this group, last week. Whether Biden drew a red line or not, his counterpart in Israel found reason to dismiss the president’s comments.

President Biden expressed regret on Saturday for using the word “illegal” to describe an undocumented immigrant who has been charged in the killing of a 22-year-old nursing student in Georgia, agreeing with his progressive critics that it was an inappropriate term. Mr. Biden used the word during an unscripted colloquy with Republicans during his State of the Union address on Thursday night, and then came under fire from immigration supporters who consider the term dehumanizing. Among those who said he should not have used it were several congressional Democrats. “I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal’; it’s ‘undocumented,’” Mr. Biden said on Saturday in an interview with Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC, during which he addressed his disagreements with former President Donald J. Trump. I’m not going to treat any, any, any of these people with disrespect.”

During an appearance on MSNBC's "The Sunday Show," Newsom was asked about conspiracy theories aimed at the star by right-wing Donald Trump supporters. She wants more people to vote," Newsom said." To be clear, Swift has not endorsed Biden for the 2024 election, though she threw her support behind the president in 2020. However, these theories did not pan out after the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC championship in January.

Former President Trump said anything "wrong" with President Joe Biden has nothing to do with age. Whether you like him or not, he's 100% sharp," Trump said of his fellow 2016 presidential candidate, adding "so it's not an age thing." Trump also levied criticisms at President Joe Biden, saying he could not see Biden running for president in 2024 — but made clear that he did not think what was "wrong" with Biden had anything to do with him being 80 years old. "I think they do the age thing because I'm 4-5 years behind. In October, Biden addressed the concerns, saying they were "legitimate" but said that voters should judge him not by his age, but by his health.
Biden went further in teasing a 2024 announcement on Monday. The president told NBC's Al Roker that he plans on running, pushing closer to a formal announcement. "I plan on running, Al, but we're not prepared to announce it yet," Biden told NBC's Al Roker during an interview on the "Today" show. And we have time to make that decision," Biden told MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart last October. The veteran NBC host teased the president's future by asking how many more Easter Egg Rolls Biden expects to lead.
George Conway says an insanity defense might be Trump's best shot in New York. Conway was weighing in on a series of incoherent Truth Social rants Trump posted on Sunday. Conway was responding on Twitter to screenshots of one of Trump's Truth Social rants on Sunday. "Are the coup-attempter's lawyers intending to use these posts as their proof in an insanity defense?" Conway told Insider on Sunday that from a legal perspective, even an insanity defense won't help Trump get off the hook in New York.
Democrat Jennifer McClellan has made history as the first Black woman elected to represent Virginia in Congress, NBC News projected Tuesday. McClellan, a state senator, defeated Republican Leon Benjamin in Tuesday's special election in the 4th Congressional District. McClellan was heavily favored to win in the reliably blue district, which covers Richmond and reaches counties bordering North Carolina. She said her commitment to voting rights stems in part from the challenges family members faced in their efforts to vote. In 2021, as Republican-led states passed legislation to restrict voting rights, McClellan co-sponsored Virginia's voting rights law to protect elements of the Voting Rights Act the Supreme Court struck down in 2013.
“The House Republican chaos has a silver lining,” Torres tweeted Wednesday, referring to Republicans’ difficulty in electing a House speaker. Does Stefanik have George Santos in mind?” Torres tweeted Tuesday. In another tweet last week, Torres posted a screenshot of an invitation Santos sent to supporters, inviting them to celebrate his swearing into Congress. “He’s a pathological liar who cannot be trusted to serve the very public he defrauded,” Torres told MSNBC’s Joy Reid on Monday. “No one has handed me anything on a silver platter,” he previously told NBC News.
Trump's lawyers should consider having him plead insanity at trial, a Harvard law professor said. Constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe commented on Trump's response to the January 6 panel. "They'd better be psychiatrists expert at reflexive projection and capable of getting their client to plead insanity," Tribe added. In the video, Trump called the committee members "very bad people" while repeating baseless voter fraud conspiracy theories. In response, Trump said in a Truth Social post on December 19 that he felt the move made him "stronger."

Joe Biden said it's "totally legitimate" for people to question whether he is too old for a second term. Biden, who will turn 80 in November, has signaled his intention to seek reelection in 2024. I think that's totally legitimate," Biden said, whose 80th birthday is in November. In a separate interview, Biden said it is his "intention" to seek re-election in 2024, though he has not yet formally declared his candidacy. Recent polls show a majority of Americans think both Biden and 76-year-old former president Donald Trump are too old to seek reelection.
Speaker Pelosi said she doesn't think Donald Trump is "man enough" to testify before the January 6 panel. Trump could be held in contempt of Congress if he doesn't comply, or he may drag out the process. "I don't think he's man enough to show up," Pelosi told Jonathan Capehart on "The Sunday Show" on MSNBC. When the committee voted unanimously earlier this month to subpoena Trump, he sent a letter repeating his false claims about the 2020 election. The speaker added that if Trump doesn't comply with the subpoena, then citizens can conclude "that he thinks he is above the law."
Joe Biden said it's his "intention" to seek re-election in 2024, though he hasn't formally declared his candidacy. Many have questioned whether Biden, 79, will seek reelection and who might challenge him. When asked if Dr. Jill Biden supports his decision, Biden paused for a long moment. "My wife thinks that we're doing something very important and that I shouldn't walk away from it," he said. Some Democrats have debated whether the 79-year-old president should seek reelection, citing his age and job performance as reasons to consider a different candidate.
“They don’t have a platform other than to tear down what I’ve been able to do, we’ve been able to do. “These last several weeks all I’m doing is saying here’s what we’re for, here’s what they’re for and make a choice and vote,” Biden said in the interview. “I have not made that formal decision, but it’s my intention, my intention to run again, and we have time to make that decision,” Biden said. Biden indicated first lady Jill Biden is supportive of a potential second term, as NBC News reported Friday. And they’ve been straightforward and to the point and it seems to me they would make sense,” Biden said.
Former DOJ official Neal Katyal commented on Donald Trump's 14-page response to the DOJ. Katyal said he did not think the response would help Trump unless he was trying to plead insanity. He said Trump's response was "evidence" of an insanity plea. But it does seem to dig the hole in deeper for Donald Trump," Katyal told MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart. A representative at Trump's post-presidential press office did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
