CNN revisited the footage broadcast live by Al Jazeera on the night of the explosion to better understand what has been considered a key piece of evidence. Still, no visual evidence has surfaced showing a rocket hitting the hospital, and CNN cannot exclude other possibilities. CNN could not independently assess whether what is visible in the video is in fact an Iron Dome interceptor missile. The video appears to show the volley emanating from a location southwest of Al-Ahli Hospital, outside of Gaza City. CNN cannot independently confirm whether a rocket fired from southwestern Gaza was responsible for the blast.

A meme that has been shared online since at least December 2016 claims that CNN used pictures of the same girl in its coverage of different refugee crises, suggesting the photographs were staged. In fact, they were all taken by the same photographer on the same day after an airstrike in Syria, and there is no evidence CNN misused them. The text reads: “When CNN uses the same girl in 3 different Refugee Crisis pictures being saved by 3 different men.”Examples can be seen (here), (here), (here). The image search revealed no evidence that CNN has used the photos to depict any refugee crisis. There is no evidence that CNN used these images to cover different events.

CNN —The US ambassador to Israel Tom Nides will depart from his post in August, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Nides informed the embassy of his plans on Tuesday, one of the sources said. The second source said Nides has begun telling members of the Israeli government that he will be leaving this summer. Axios first reported that Nides is expected to depart the post. Nides is married to Virginia Moseley, who is the executive vice president of editorial for CNN US.

Federal worker safety inspections have alleged poor maintenance or a lack of safety training at some Tyson plants where ammonia leaks injured workers. New York CNN Business —CNN on Thursday executed sweeping layoffs and implemented a series of changes that impacted multiple divisions across the news organization, including ending live programming on HLN, the company’s chief executive, Chris Licht, said in a memo to employees. The layoffs, which started Wednesday and were expected to impact hundreds of employees, largely had been completed by Thursday afternoon. The series of changes, which came after Licht conducted a months-long review of CNN’s business after taking over in May as the network’s head, notably included the ending of live programming on HLN, CNN’s longtime sister channel.
