Asian American voters in Georgia showed strong Democratic lean in the recent Senate runoff election, according to one exit poll. “I think there is a risk of losing folks if they take voters for granted.”For the exit poll, the organization surveyed 337 Asian American voters across DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties at five key, high-Asian American precincts. Nguyen emphasized that political opinions across the electorate are far from monolithic, pointing to the poll’s breakdown of Asian American voters by age. Polling occurred in areas with a higher-density Asian American voters, which tend to skew Democrat. Nguyen similarly noted that in the Atlanta area, voters heavily favored Warnock.

Voters in Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Oregon, and Vermont will be voting on changing this legislation. The landmark 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, ratified on December 6, 1865, officially abolished slavery but allowed it to continue as a punishment in prisons against convicted felons. For states in the former Confederacy, the loophole was a tool to maintain the dynamics of slavery, post-abolition, said AP. But in some states, including Alabama, inmates get paid nothing for their work. "For an entire generation, it put Black men and women back into slavery by incarcerating them and selling their labor to private corporations," said Chase.
Some have proposed age limits for elected officials amid concerns about America's gerontocracy. The history of the contemporary movement for term limits largely dates back to the early 1990s, when dozens of states enacted term limits not just for their own legislatures but for their federal representatives in Washington. "Put it this way: I'm a little more interested in term limits than age limits," Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland told Insider. "There's a logic to term limits, because the principle of democracy is taking turns," Raskin, 59, said. "If there were to be term limits, the legislature certainly should have more terms than the executive," he offered.
A seemingly dormant Mehmet Oz campaign has struggled to unify the MAGA base in Pennsylvania. "Since Dr. Oz's victory remarks on June 9th, he has been to over 75 events," Oz campaign spokesperson Brittany Yanick told Insider in a statement. The Oz campaign would not say when it has plans to launch new TV ads. The Vance campaign responded to Insider's request for comment by attacking Rep. Tim Ryan. "It's why Democrats have a chance of holding onto the Senate," he told Insider, "is just the horrible class of candidates they've nominated."
The senator this year has bought or sold these companies' stock shares, according to an Insider analysis of federal records. The senator's stock trades have become a highly politicized issue, with Ossoff and Democratic allies spending millions of dollars on ads highlighting the controversy. Perdue sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of these companies' stock shares during 2020, an Insider analysis of Senate stock trade disclosure records indicates. The Perdue campaign and the fundraiser coordinator, Alice Perry of The Elevated Group, did not return several requests for comment. The Ossoff campaign declined to comment.
