Wheelchair basketball teams typically travel with two chairs each —their sporting ones and their everyday ones, Shields told BI. In a statement to BI, Southwest Airlines said that there had been a delay in its staff reassembling the chairs, and that it had reviewed the situation and was addressing it. Roberto Cavalli, the Italian-born fashion designer who celebrated glamour and excess, sending models down the runway and actresses onto red carpets wearing leopard-print dresses, bejeweled distressed jeans, satin corsets and other unapologetically flashy clothes, has died. His company announced the death on Instagram but provided no details. Mr. Cavalli’s signature style — “molto sexy, molto animal print and molto, molto Italiano,” as the British newspaper The Independent once described it — remained essentially unchanged throughout his long career. But he skillfully reinvented his clothes for different eras, enjoying several renaissances and building a global lifestyle brand in the process. When the model Naomi Campbell wore a pair during a runway show in 1993, stretch jeans became a huge trend.

Read previewNetflix's "Raël: The Alien Prophet" is perhaps one of its most gripping docuseries yet. The show delves into the world of a controversial French cult known as the Raëlian Movement, which claimed that it created the world's first human clone in the early 2000s. The Raëlian movement was convinced that cloning humans would lead to immortality. In "Raël: The Alien Prophet," Boisselier maintains that Eve is doing well, although she has little contact with her. Her youthful obsession realized in front of her, Ella was inspired to buy her first piece of Lolita fashion in 2015, from the popular Lolita e-tailer Angel Pretty. While Lolita style is named after Vladimir Nabokov’s eponymous teen in the controversial 1955 novel, the overlap ends there. Even 1950s-style American prom dresses, with their extravagant skirts and bodices, influence contemporary Lolita fashion, he said. The skirt's fullness, achieved through the use of a petticoat, is a key characteristic of Lolita fashion. Ella says her personal Lolita style is a blend of classic and sweet, with a healthy dose of prints and patterns.

LONDON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - A new film "Callas - Paris, 1958" is about to transport audiences back to the night 65 years ago when opera legend Maria Callas for the first time dazzled a Paris audience. Celebrities including Charlie Chaplin, Brigitte Bardot and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, as well as then French president René Coty attended the three-hour performance at the Paris Opera. It was also broadcast live on television to more than 30 million people, but until film-maker Tom Volf and his team meticulously restored film reels that had lain forgotten, it had only been seen in black and white. He said the work of his team made the film "as vivid as if it was shot last month". It will be released in cinemas in some 40 countries between November and December in celebration of the centenary of Callas' birth.

The cause was a brain tumor, his son Ben said. Mr. Holden was writing the gossipy “Atticus” column — a frothy mix of politics and celebrity — for The Sunday Times in London when, in 1977, he was sent to cover Prince Charles’s visit to Canada to open the Calgary Stampede, a rodeo. The prince was sort of a dud assignment, but Mr. Holden made the best of it, even though the most interesting thing Prince Charles said to him was: “Married, are you? Fun, is it?”The column Mr. Holden wrote about the royal junket amused both Queen Elizabeth II and her son, now King Charles III, and Mr. Holden soon received a book deal to write a biography of Charles. Though he thought the subject was boring, the advance of 15,000 pounds was too large to turn down.

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) — An inquiry that began Tuesday into New Zealand’s worst mass-shooting will examine — among other issues — the response times of police and medics and whether any of the 51 people who were killed could have been saved. The inquiry represents the first time authorities will outline the details of how they responded to the March 2019 shooting. One of the issues under examination is whether an emergency door in the Al Noor mosque was functioning at the time of the shooting — and if not, why not. Farrant gave evidence that the shooting began at 1:40 p.m. at the Al Noor mosque, where 44 people were killed, and the first emergency calls began about a minute later. Ambulance staff entered the Al Noor mosque at 2:15 p.m., Farrant said, and began removing victims eight minutes later.
