CNN —Brian Wilson, musician and founding member of the hit ’60s rock band The Beach Boys, has been placed under a conservatorship following a Los Angeles court ruling on Thursday. According to the Wilson family, the decision to place Brian under a conservatorship came following the death of his wife, Melinda Wilson, in January. She encouraged me to make the music that was closest to my heart.”Wilson, pictured far left, was a founding member of The Beach Boys. Consumers are spending more of their budgets on food than they have in 30 years. And high food costs could stick around for a while, executives and small business owners have said. US consumers spent 11.3% of their disposable income on food in 2022, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing data from the US Department of Agriculture. The last time food made up as much of their spending was in 1991, the Journal reported. AdvertisementIt looks like elevated food costs will likely stick around, too.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The management team of Brian Wilson has petitioned to place him in a conservatorship because of his mental decline and the recent death of his wife, Melinda Ledbetter Wilson, who managed his daily life. The petition asks a judge to appoint two longtime Wilson representatives — publicist Jean Sievers and manager LeeAnn Hard — to be conservators overseeing his personal and medical decisions because “Mr. Wilson is unable to properly provide for his own personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.”The two women “have had a close relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson for many years, and Mr. Wilson trusts them,” according to the filing. Ledbetter — whose husband credited her with stabilizing his famously troubled life — had managed his daily needs before her death on Jan. 30, the petition says. The Wilson petition seeks only a conservatorship of his person, saying he does not need a conservator of the estate because his assets are in a trust, with Hard as a trustee.

Then there’s Eve Hewson, daughter of Bono, who claimed that the Vulture team behind the “nepo baby” piece was “jealous” and called out the editor-in-chief for her own familial privilege. But one self-described “nepo baby” has finally cracked the code of how to defuse these attacks: by owning the title, not shying away from it. shutting out countless talented newcomers who might have more talent than a “nepo baby” but lack a famous name or face and thus are denied opportunities — would be a major mistake. More “nepo babies” could take a page out of Williams’ book and recognize this duality. Hollywood isn’t an equal playing field, and any “nepo baby” who pretends like it is is not only ignoring reality, but doing a disservice to their own reputation.
'M3GAN' star and executive producer Allison Williams is unbothered by the 'nepo-baby' conversation. In a new interview, Williams said she had great opportunities from her father's connections. In a new interview with New York Mag, Allison Williams, daughter of former NBC anchor Brian Williams, says acknowledging her privilege is just fine with her. She doesn't think the nepo-baby conversation is coming from a bad place either — she said, "All that people are looking for is an acknowledgement that it's not a level playing field." Williams told Wired in a December interview that acknowledging the advantages of being a nepo-baby comes down to trusting her skills.
About a dozen people had gathered to show support for the Ely prisoners on the ninth day of their hunger strike. According to the Department of Corrections, two dozen people were participating in the hunger strike as of Friday morning. Marcus Kelley hugs Nina Fernandez, mother of one of the prisoners participating in the Ely State Prison hunger strike, during a rally in Las Vegas, on Dec. 9, 2022. In a statement released hours after the Las Vegas protest, William Gittere, acting director of the Nevada prison system, announced a policy change to “administrative sanctions” in light of the hunger strike. Prior to the hunger strike, prisoners could be punished with “concurrent” sanctions, meaning multiple privileges might be taken from a prisoner at the same time, the statement said.
The talks are leading to speculation about potential changes for CBS star anchors Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell. CBS News is mulling changes to its talent lineup. One plugged-in TV executive hears that CBS is looking to create a broader or cross-company deal for King, though. CBS News is also circling NBC talent including MSNBC host Brian Williams and "Today" co-anchor Craig Melvin. A CBS executive shot down speculation, saying: "No one on that list is moving forward into an anchor job here, and Bill Whitaker already has one of the best anchor jobs in the business."
