CNN —From the moment the US election results rolled in, climate leaders knew Donald Trump would be a blow to the COP29 talks in Baku.
Amid the chaos, prominent global climate leaders on Friday issued an open letter calling for a “fundamental overhaul” of the entire UN climate process.
COP29 marks the third year in a row that the climate talks have been held in either a petrostate, or economy that relies heavily on oil and gas.
