Officials were searching for a runaway bull in southern Massachusets early Monday after a herd of the animals jumped a fence at a rodeo event a day earlier. “Community members should exercise extreme caution and not approach the bull if found. The animals escaped their pens, ran through the parking lot and jumped over the fence, before fleeing south towards nearby woods, according to Coleman. One bull was caught just after fleeing, and six were corralled some three miles away by local police and firefighters, along with environmental police, workers from the rodeo and staff from the New England Rodeo in nearby Norton, Coleman said. No injuries were reported but the rodeo, which was being held at a mall, was under investigation, he added.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Los Angeles Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson after he failed to appear for a court hearing on traffic charges in Massachusetts. Chargers coach Brandon Staley said Monday the team is aware of the matter, but said he didn't know if the team would take any disciplinary action against Jackson. “It’s a private matter for J.C. and he is working through it,” Staley said. Jackson played in 85 of the 132 Chargers' defensive snaps in the first two games. Again, you earn that week to week in this league and that’s really where it is," Staley said.

WASHINGTON — The country’s largest gun safety group is turning its attention down ballot by pumping money into local sheriff races this election. Everytown for Gun Safety, the massive gun control group founded by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, told NBC News on Friday it's “leaving no stone unturned in the fight to end gun violence” and will spend $300,000 on digital ads in two sheriff races this year. County sheriffs, unlike most law enforcement officers, are directly elected by voters in most parts of the country. “Sheriffs are elected to enforce the law, not make them,” said John Feinblatt, head of Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund. The Bernalillo County race in New Mexico race falls along more familiar partisan lines.
