“I always felt like a visitor on Spider-Man,” Mr. Romita said. Mr. Romita said that he based the character partially on Ann-Margret, the actress and singer. “We were trying to make a girl that was very with it and very modern, “ Mr. Romita said. Mr. Romita retired in 1996, but carried on working on certain projects for both Marvel and DC.
