Ah, the Iowa caucuses. So much money and energy spent on an antidemocratic process in a state with a pretty dismal track record of picking presidential nominees. Because Iowa is never really about who wins the actual caucuses so much as about who wins the Expectations Game. As you can imagine, this is not a lighthearted game like, say, charades or Hungry Hungry Hippos. And this election, with Donald Trump dominating the race as a quasi-incumbent cult-of-personality leader, the known unknowns are even knottier.
