Arizona's Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that a near-total abortion ban from 1864 can be enforced.
AdvertisementThe ban would jail anyone who provides an abortion or helps someone get an abortion and makes Arizona the latest state to effectively ban the procedure — including in cases of rape or incest.
The 160-year-old ban was passed before Arizona became a state.
