The new Passwords app for iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, Mac and Windows, lets users store all of their passwords, including verification codes, app passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, Passkeys and more. Its new Passwords app, introduced at Apple's WWDC 2024 earlier this week, is one more solution to help protect online accounts and manage multiple logins. Password managers, like the Apple Password app, log different passwords, passcodes and logins securely under a safe account. You can't underestimate the amount of effort they will put into making sure that is locked down, and those are all tied into Apple IDs, Apple passwords. Apple Intelligence, its entry into AI, will leverage cloud-based models on special servers using Apple Silicon to ensure that user data is private and secure.

Earnings per share rose 1% to $1.53, a March quarter record, and exceeded the LSEG consensus estimate of $1.50. This resulted in stronger-than-expected free cash flow, which is more important than operating cash flow because it is cash Apple can ultimately return to shareholders via buybacks and dividends. During the reported quarter, Apple paid over $27 billion to shareholders, including $3.7 billion in dividends and equivalents and another $23.5 billion via the repurchase of 130 million shares. Quarterly results Apple's services sales notched another record, which offset a slight miss in product sales and led to beats on gross and operating income. iPad sales are expected to gain double digits year over year, much better than the 5.9% expected on Wall Street.

Reverberations from Apple 's earnings report will likely be felt across the hardware sector. A cottage industry of suppliers depends on Apple and the suppliers' stocks have a history of moving in tandem with the big technology name. To find these stocks, CNBC Pro screened FactSet for companies that provide Apple with supplies and have the highest correlation in stock price over a 20-week period. In 2023, the stock climbed nearly 39%, outperforming the broader market while underperforming the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite . What to expect from Apple’s ‘scary fast’ event
  + stars: | 2023-10-29 | by ( Samantha Kelly | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +3 min
CNN —Apple is set to host its second product event of the season, a month after introducing its new iPhone 15 lineup. Some analysts said the decision to hold an evening event may underline the fact that this likely won’t be one of Apple’s bigger announcements of the year. The event’s tagline — “scary fast” — is an apparent nod to the likely unveiling of its next-generation silicon chip, M3, as well as Halloween. Over the past several years, the progression of Apple Silicon — the company’s custom-made silicon chip — has emerged as a significant storyline for Apple, culminating in the transition away from Intel chips. This year, the company is expected to bring its M3 chip to a 24-inch iMac and perhaps some MacBook Pro models in various sizes.

Around $180 billion of Apple's (AAPL) market value has been incinerated since the tech giant reported quarterly results last week — a reaction we consider overblown for this own-it, don't-trade-it stock. Apple's market cap is now under $3 trillion after a string of losses before and after last week's earnings. Overall revenue for the company's fiscal third quarter of $81.8 billion fell 1% year-over-year but beat out expectations of $81.69 billion. Executives said iPhone sales would improve in the fourth quarter, but did not say how much. Weaker iPhone sales were balanced by strong sales in the services segment that contains Apple TV+ and by sales in China that grew 8% year over year. That sales forecast is below analyst expectations of roughly flat fiscal fourth-quarter sales of $90.19 billion, according to Refinitiv data. Apple Vision Pro costs almost $4,000 after tax. At 7x more than the Quest 3, the Vision Pro should be far more powerful and capable – and of course, it is. Price skimming is a strategy where a company sets the initial price of a product very high, then gradually lowers it over time. It keeps profits high throughout a product's lifecycle: By pricing products high at launch, Apple maximizes its profits from these early sales.
