Opinion polls suggest PiS will come out ahead but could lose its majority amid intensifying discontent over its democratic record, which has cost Poland billions of euros in EU aid, and concerns over women's rights and the cost of living. "This election will show whether Poland will be governed by Poles, or by Berlin or Brussels," PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told supporters at the party's last campaign rally on Friday. It has built its support on generous social handouts, which it says rival parties will stop. Tusk says his party would maintain social support.

A funny thing happened in recent weeks, as the media industry wrung its hands over the long-anticipated death of the lucrative cable-TV bundle: Hundreds of thousands of people turned to a different bundle. When the standoff between Disney and the cable giant Charter left him among nearly 15 million cable subscribers without ESPN and many other channels, he took matters into his own hands. At Charter’s suggestion, Mr. Antoniacci, 74, downloaded FuboTV, a streaming service that offers channels including ESPN. “It has almost everything that I require,” said Mr. Antoniacci, who signed up for a free trial. “It’s a cable substitute, and it appears to be working,” he added.

Be the first to know about the biggest and best luxury home sales and listings by signing up for our Mansion Deals email alert. A beachfront home on Florida’s Anna Maria Island is listing for $25 million. If it fetches its asking price, it would set a record for the affluent island, said listing agent Charles Buky of Coldwell Banker Realty.
About an hour southwest of Tampa, Fla., is Anna Maria Island, a 7-mile-long tropical oasis comprising three cities. On the island’s north end is the city of Anna Maria, the ZIP Code of which is 34216, Florida’s second-most expensive as ranked by median listing price, according to Realtor.com. ( News Corp , owner of The Wall Street Journal, also operates Realtor.com under license from the National Association of Realtors.) The city of Anna Maria, only a handful of blocks wide, is home to just under 2,000 full-time and part-time residents who love the island’s old Florida charm. Its nine-hole course is the only golf course on the island.
The 10 most expensive ZIP codes in the South

The wealthiest neighborhood in the South is Fisher Island, an exclusive 216-acre island a couple miles off the coast of Miami — and it's only accessible by helicopter or by boat. With less than 400 residents, $90 million condos and an exclusive golf course, Fisher Island ranks first in terms of median home values, according to a recent analysis of ZIP codes by realty service RealtyHop. Homes here cost a median of $6.1 million — more than double the amount you'd pay for almost all of the homes in the rest of the top 10 most expensive ZIP codes in the South. That's followed by two other small, beachfront neighborhoods, including Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, near Charleston Harbor, and Anna Maria, Florida, near Tampa, which have homes closer to a median value of $3 million. Here's a look at the rankings.
Natalia Bryant, the daughter of the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant, has filed a request for a restraining order against an alleged stalker in Los Angeles, court records show. The 19-year-old University of Southern California student filed for a civil harassment restraining order on Monday against Dwayne Cortez Toliver Kemp, 32, of Sun Valley, California. The filing states that Kemp allegedly started to harass her on social media in 2020 when she was just 17-years-old and he was 30. "Thankful For Him Birthing You, Hopefully We Can Birth Him… ‘Kobe,’” he wrote, the filing said. Real-estate investors are trying to take advantage of the down market by buying properties for less. They seem undeterred by high insurance costs, possibly falling home values, and ever-worse storms. The real-estate market in Florida just doesn't stop. "If they were asking $1 million before the storm, I'll offer $750,000," Lema told The Wall Street Journal.
