A red flag warning was issued for the I-5 corridor in Los Angeles County and the Ventura County mountains until 5:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. The wildfire began Saturday afternoon in Gorman, an unincorporated community in northwestern Los Angeles County. California State Park Services evacuated 1,200 people from Hungry Valley Park, Cal Fire said. A fast-spreading wildfire northwest of Los Angeles has burned more than 10,000 acres and forced the evacuation of about 1,200 people, according to local authorities, fueled by strong winds that are expected to last until Monday. The blaze, named the Post Fire, started at 1:47 p.m. Saturday in Gorman, Calif., near Interstate 5 about 50 miles outside Los Angeles, the authorities said. Within 12 hours, it had spread to over 10,500 acres, according to CalFire, California’s firefighting agency. It was zero percent contained as of Saturday evening, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The authorities evacuated 1,200 people from the Hungry Valley recreation area and closed the nearby Pyramid Lake reservoir, the fire department said on Saturday evening.

CNN —A tram collision at Universal Studios Hollywood in California left more than a dozen people with minor injuries Saturday night, authorities said. Fifteen people were taken to local hospitals with injuries, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. “There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept,” a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson told CNN in a statement. The theme park did not provide further details on what caused the issue with the tram. Universal Studios Hollywood operates trams for its popular studio tour, which takes visitors to various filming locations on the backlot, as well as 3-D experiences.

A vehicle struck and injured Los Angeles County sheriff’s recruits while they were on a morning run in Whittier, Calif.More than 20 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department recruits were injured early Wednesday when a vehicle struck the group as they were out for a morning training run, according to the officials. Five of the 22 injured recruits are in critical condition, said Sheila Kelliher , a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The rest have lesser injuries and have also been taken to the hospital, she said.
WHITTIER, Calif. (AP) — A car struck 22 Los Angeles County sheriff’s recruits on a training run around dawn Wednesday and five were critically injured, authorities said. A total of 23 people were injured, including the driver, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson Capt. In addition to the five who were critically injured, there were four with moderate injuries and 14 with minor injuries. The driver was among those with minor injuries, she said. LOS ANGELES — A man was killed and 12 other people were injured after a car crashed into a food stand Friday night, officials said. Aerial helicopter footage from NBC Los Angeles showed the sedan crashed into what appeared to be a cooking stove on the sidewalk. In addition to the person who died, 12 other people were injured, three of whom were in critical condition, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Craig Little said. The crash happened near the intersection of West Holt Ave and Dudley Street. The driver was going east and went into opposite lanes of traffic before crashing into the food stand, Mejia said.
