Launched in 2015 with a handful of sellers, Amazon Global Trade, the business to consumers (B2C) exports platform of the e-commerce giant, is gaining traction in India. "Some of the sellers are first time exporters, including those who left their corporate jobs to start e-commerce exports," he said. On the e-commerce platform, the highest growth was seen in categories like beauty, apparels, home, kitchen, furniture, and toys.

Raoul Sreenivasan, who joined Amazon in 2016 and currently oversees planning, performance and cargo for Amazon Global Air, will take over most of Rhoads' Amazon Air responsibilities, Felton said. As part of an effort to handle and deliver more of its own packages, Amazon launched an air cargo business. Rhoads joined Amazon Air in its early days and has overseen much of the unit's growth, including the opening of a $1.5 billion air hub in Kentucky. Air cargo rates have plunged from record highs hit during late 2021, when port snarls and a dearth of international flights pinched capacity and drove up prices. Correction: Sarah Rhoads joined Amazon in 2011.

But my e-commerce success really started after I launched my coffee accessories brand, Kaffe, on Amazon in mid-2019. I spent day and night thinking about the best way to position the coffee grinder so it would get to the top of Amazon's rankings. My sales started to grow. Amazon has its own coffee grinder that it sells under its Amazon Basics private label, and it retails for a couple of dollars less than Kaffe's does. On Amazon, you're either growing, or you're really dying, and the fees will eat you alive if you're not doing any volume.

NEW DELHI/BENGALURU, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) on Monday launched a dedicated air cargo service in India, Amazon Air, as it looks to expand and speed-up deliveries across one of its key markets amid fast-growing e-commerce sales, an executive said on Monday. The move to use a dedicated cargo service will give Amazon tighter control over costs and flight schedules while reducing delivery times across a wider range of products, said Rhoads. "We want to deliver the majority of shipments in two days or less and Amazon Air enables that." India is the third market, after the United States and Europe, where the company has launched Amazon Air. Amazon, which uses its own ground delivery services for shipping, also partners with Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPWGn.DE) controlled Blue Dart Express Ltd (BLDT.NS), one of India's biggest air cargo carriers.

NEW DELHI, Oct 31 (Reuters) - One of Amazon India's biggest sellers, Appario, will cease to list products on the shopping website, the U.S. firm said on Monday, after it faced years of allegations from brick-and-mortar retailers of giving preferential treatment to the seller. A Reuters investigation last year, based on Amazon documents, showed the U.S. company gave preferential treatment for years to a small group of sellers including Appario and another one named Cloudtail, and used them to bypass Indian laws. Amazon, which has maintained it does not give preferential treatment to any seller and complies with all laws, agreed to end its relationship with Cloudtail in August last year. Appario, a joint venture partnership between Amazon (AMZN.O) and India's Patni group, has listed products on Amazon India since 2017. The JV will continue but Appario will cease listing products on Amazon, the U.S. firm said in statement.

Amazon is still figuring out which of the older jets will be phased out, the spokesperson said. Amazon has similar agreements with other air cargo providers ATSG and Atlas.
