There's another possibility, however: Someone who knows how to use AI — and who's based abroad — will come for your job. AdvertisementAndrew Yeung, a former product lead at Google and Meta, predicted in May that overseas workers who get their AI glow-up will someday take over numerous jobs. And it's not just learning about AI, but learning from AI. AI is also making it cheaper to bring lessons on AI and other topics to people in languages other than English. London CNN —Jobs that require artificial intelligence skills offer significantly higher wages than those that don’t, according to new research published Tuesday. Consultancy PwC studied advertisements, posted last year, for a range of jobs, including app programmers, lawyers and accountants. It found that wages for AI-related roles were on average 25% higher in the United States than for comparable jobs in the same field that did not require those skills. Between 2012 and 2023, the number of jobs requiring AI skills grew 3.5 times faster than the total of all jobs across the countries studied, according to the report. “AI could be the missing piece of the UK’s productivity puzzle, bringing a boost to the economy, wages, and living standards,” said Sahneh at PwC.

Trump Media & Technology Group filed a notice to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday that it would delay its quarterly filing, just days after the regulator charged its former auditor with fraud. Former US President Donald Trump’s media company said it was unable to complete the review of its financial statement for the quarter ended March 31 due to the timing of its appointment of Semple, Marchal & Cooper as the new auditor. The company dismissed previous auditor BF Borgers, after the SEC charged the accounting firm with “massive fraud” earlier this month. The stock has since then cut its gain to about 5%, giving it a market value of about $7 billion. Truth Social’s revenue was $4.13 million last year, up from $1.47 million in 2022.

Richard Branson doesn't think of himself as a businessman — and he believes that helped him build Virgin Group into what it is today. "There's many things that we've done that we wouldn't have done if we'd listened to accountants," says Branson. Perhaps ironically, the strategy has proved lucrative for Branson, whose current net worth is estimated at $2.5 billion, according to Forbes.

According to filings, Borgers served as Trump Media’s independent registered accounting firm before the social media company went public in March. Later in March, the audit committee of Trump Media approved the hiring of Borgers as the public company’s accounting firm. The SEC review only focused on public companies, meaning BF Borgers’ work for Trump Media when it was private was not included. The auditing firm for Trump Media and the auditor's owner were charged Friday with "massive fraud" by the Securities and Exchange Commission for work that affected more than 1,500 SEC filings, the federal regulator announced. The auditor, BF Borgers CPA and its owner Benjamin Borgers have agreed to be permanently suspended from practicing as accountants before the SEC, and also agreed to pay a combined $14 million in civil penalties, without admitting or denying the allegations, the SEC said. The agency, calling BF Borgers a "sham audit mill," said the company and its owner engaged in "deliberate and systemic failures to comply with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board ... standards in its audits and reviews incorporated in more than 1,500 SEC filings from January 2021 through June 2023," according to a press release. BF Borgers during that same time acted as the auditor for Trump Media, which was then privately held and moving toward a planned merger with the publicly traded shell company Digital World Acquisition Corp.Trump Media and DWAC finalized that merger in late March 2024, leading to Trump Media becoming publicly traded under the DJT ticker. The SEC said the Lakewood, Colorado-based BF Borgers and its owner were charged with falsely telling clients that the auditor's work would comply with PCAOB standards, fabricating audit documents to make it seem that the work did comply with those standards, and "falsely stating in audit reports included in more than 500 public company SEC filings that the firm's audits complied with PCAOB standards," the release said.

Yet recent research finds working with a financial professional does not necessarily encourage individuals to claim Social Security at later ages. Why it pays to wait to claim Social SecurityWhen Social Security retirement beneficiaries claim at age 62, their benefits are permanently reduced. As the Social Security full retirement age moves to age 67, benefits available at age 62 are even further reduced. Delaying Social Security benefits is so valuable not only because of the increase to benefits, but also the annual cost-of-living adjustments tied to inflation.

Here are nine little-known techniques that wealthy real estate owners use to pay less to Uncle Sam:Qualified personal residence trusts, better known as "QPRTs," effectively freeze the value of a real estate property for tax purposes. With an FLP, an individual — often a parent or two parents — pools their business assets, commonly real estate or stocks. Having a routine job with little mental stimulation during your 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s was linked to a 66% higher risk of mild cognitive impairment and a 37% greater risk of dementia after the age of 70, according to the study, when compared with having a job with high cognitive and interpersonal demands. Attending college, for example, reduced the impact of a repetitive job by about 60% but didn’t fully negate the risk. Routine jobs that were not classified as “cognitively protective” often involved repetitive manual and mental tasks, such as is typical of factory work and bookkeeping. “Most people in routine jobs in our sample included housekeepers, custodians, construction workers and mail carriers,” Edwin said. More cognitively demanding jobs were not based on routine tasks, even though repetition was required at times.
