Monday's win moved Wales level on seven points with third-placed Armenia in Group D but they are fourth on goal difference. Croatia, on 10 points from four games, lead the group on goal difference from Turkey, who have played a game more. "The pressure came from the outside, understandably, but we never questioned it within the group," Page told reporters. Their last win was also against Latvia in a Euro qualifier in Cardiff in March. Wales play Croatia, Armenia and Turkey in their final three Group D games.

With England all but assured of reaching the last 16 barring a four-goal defeat, Southgate made four changes in all with Walker coming in at right back for Kieran Trippier. The experienced Jordan Henderson replaces Mason Mount in midfield while Marcus Rashford, who came off the bench to score against Iran, will complement Harry Kane up front with Phil Foden also getting his first start in Qatar. Wales, who need to win and hope Iran and the United States draw or beat England by four goals, made two changes with Dan James and Joe Allen coming into the starting lineup in place of Harry Wilson and Connor Roberts. "We played today with amazing character, which is the profile of our team. We played with a sense of unity, cohesion," said Queiroz, who was thrown into the air by his players after the full-time whistle. "Sometimes you lose your dignity, your honour, but of course in our first game we were bleeding in our pride. "The sending off didn't help, of course, but at that point we had five forwards on the pitch, so couldn't get a defensive shape." Wayne Hennessey got the nod in goal for Wales ahead of Danny Ward but Kieffer Moore misses out up front as Dan James is preferred, with Harry Wilson starting in midfield. With Joe Allen ruled out, Ethan Ampadu will play as the defensive midfielder while Neco Williams and Connor Roberts start in the wing back positions. Rob Page's side made the World Cup via the playoffs, overcoming Austria and Ukraine to reach the global showpiece tournament for the first time since 1958. That followed a group-stage campaign in which they finished second behind Belgium after suffering a solitary defeat in eight matches. And there will be plenty of fire in the Welsh Dragon after such a lengthy absence from the tournament. The former defender, who won 41 caps for Wales, led them to the last 16 at Euro 2020 before sealing their World Cup qualification and earning a four-year contract. Page knows Wales' squad needs to be at full strength if they are to excel in Qatar.
