CNN —Astronomers have discovered a “super-Earth,” or a world larger than our planet, orbiting a star about 137 light-years away. The super-Earth exoplanet, known as TOI-715b, orbits a red dwarf star that is cooler and smaller than our sun. “This discovery is exciting as it’s the first super-Earth from TESS to be found within the conservative habitable zone,” Dransfield said. If the Earth-size planet is confirmed, it will become the smallest planet yet that TESS has found in a habitable zone. TOI-715b’s star has only shown a couple of flares within the past two years and isn’t considered active, making it an old star, Dransfield said.

Uber — Shares of the ride hailing company rose 2% after Uber's third-quarter gross bookings of $35.3 billion topped the company's guidance of $29 billion to $30 billion. Planet Fitness — The gym chain climbed 8.8% after beating expectations on both lines for the third quarter and raising its outlook for the year. Planet Fitness reported 59 cents in earnings per share, excluding items, and $277.6 million in revenue. Analysts surveyed by FactSet anticipated 55 cents in earnings per share on revenue at $268.2 million. It also cut its price target on Peloton to $4 from $13 per share, implying about 20% downside from Monday's close.

Vivid Seats beat analysts' expectations for third-quarter revenue, while also offering strong guidance on the measure for 2023 and 2024. Tripadvisor — Shares of the travel website operator jumped 9.5% after the company beat third-quarter earnings and revenue expectations. Hims & Hers Health also raised its full-year guidance and announced a $50 million share repurchase program.

☆ 'They're running out of time': Ukraine's counteroffensive is gaining urgency as winter approaches

"Despite inflicting significant losses on Russian armed forces, Ukraine's four-and-a-half-month-old counteroffensive has not achieved major territorial gains nor managed to slice through Russia's 'land bridge' to Crimea," he added. "The hope is that they're far enough through the Russian defensive lines now ... to make some rapid progress. Russian forces had months to prepare layers of defenses including extensive networks of trenches; anti-tank obstacles such as ditches and "dragon's teeth"; and minefields. Russian forces are also receiving support from artillery, attack helicopters and other aircraft, again impeding Ukraine's forces. Minefields, in particular, have disrupted Ukraine's offensive momentum and rate of advance, according to analysts at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

3M — The conglomerate jumped 5.8% after beating analyst expectations in the quarter and raising its earnings outlook. The company missed consensus estimates from analysts polled by FactSet on both lines in the quarter, while fourth-quarter revenue guidance was also lower than expected. It also raised its full year revenue guidance to $235 million to $238 million, greater than prior guidance of $230 million to $235 million. The Trade Desk — Shares advanced 3.2% after Loop Capital initiated coverage of the advertising technology stock with a buy rating. Criteo — The advertising technology stock traded 4.1% higher after KeyBanc initiated coverage with a buy rating.
