CNN —When Adelaide Saywell posted on TikTok last month that SSRIs, a commonly prescribed antidepressant medication, could make people more vulnerable to heat, it went viral and sparked a deluge of comments. Adelaide Saywell received a flood of surprised comments when she posted about the link between SSRIs and heat intolerance. Dehydration puts people at risk of heat exhaustion and, in particularly severe cases, heat stroke, which is dangerous and potentially deadly. “The Trolley Song,” a second-act standout from the 1944 movie musical “Meet Me in St. Louis,” was sung by Judy Garland in striking Technicolor. And yet it has found new life online nearly 80 years later as an unlikely anthem for LGBTQ Pride. “Happy pride month (sic) to Judy Garland in the trolley song. Kelleher likened it to Cher’s 1998 autotune fantasia “Believe” but “somehow even more gay.”Like Cher’s hit, “The Trolley Song” is dripping in artifice. “The Trolley Song” has been adopted by LGBTQ people since Garland first started singing it in concert.

Timothy York knows what works to treat his decadeslong opioid addiction: Suboxone, a medication that effectively quiets cravings. Since York arrived in federal prison in 2008, he has been held in a series of facilities awash with contraband drugs and violence. Yet the federal prisons are treating only a fraction — less than 10% — of the roughly 15,000 prisoners who need it, according to the bureau’s estimates. Some say the issues stem from a culture at the bureau that is skeptical of addiction medication and pits staff against prisoners. He was using an underground supply of Suboxone at USP-Coleman, the federal prison in Florida where he was incarcerated, but it was erratic.
