Toronto, the most populous city in Canada, will be home to the league’s 14th franchise, the WNBA announced Thursday at a news conference.
AdvertisementLed by Toronto billionaire Larry Tanenbaum’s Kilmer Sports Venture, the unnamed franchise will use the 8,000-seat Coca-Cola Coliseum as its home arena.

Engelbert called it a “seminal moment” for Toronto in its feasibility to receive a WNBA expansion team.
The WNBA team will add to the list of Toronto’s professional women’s sports franchises.
