CNN —Calida Rawles has been thinking a lot about light and darkness, in her artwork and beyond. The artworks are newly on display at Lehmann Maupin in New York, marking Rawles’ first major solo exhibition on the East Coast. “If I’m upset and I get to go to the ocean, I do sit back and feel more connected to something larger when I’m there," the artist Calida Rawles told CNN.
