“The tankers and cargo ships of 1950 aren’t the tankers and cargo ships of today,” said James Salmon, a spokesman for the Delaware River and Bay Authority. “It’s going to do a number on them,” he said of a modern ship and the hazard it poses to a bridge like the one in Baltimore. Delaware River and Bay AuthorityThe situation with the Key Bridge is “unique,” said Jim Tymon, executive director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, which represents state transportation departments. A protection system was subsequently built around the new pier.

CNN —Another day, another record broken by Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. In the Hawkeyes’ 95-62 Big Ten Tournament win against the Penn State Lady Lions on Friday, Clark eclipsed NBA star Steph Curry’s record of most three-pointers hit in a single NCAA Division-I season. However, Clark has now surpassed the man who many consider the greatest three-point shooter in the history of basketball. Clark eventually found her groove and was able to sink the crucial three to write her name in yet another page of the history books. In a win against the Ohio State Buckeyes on March 3, Clark overtook Hall of Famer “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points.

The Ely Shoshone, Duckwater Shoshone, and the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation — a coalition representing about 1,500 enrolled tribal members — are lobbying the federal government to designate nearly 40 square miles (100 square kilometers) as Bahsahwahbee National Monument. He testified in a multi-decade legal battle alongside ranchers, local officials and environmental groups who all opposed the project by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Protecting water for sacred trees is not something the agency had previously done, Sullivan said. Even if the land becomes a national monument, the water beneath Bahsahwahbee would remain under the state’s jurisdiction. The Southern Nevada Water Authority supports a monument designation that allows for the continuation of existing ranching and agricultural activities, said Bronson Mack, water authority spokesman.

The rapper is part of a new public service announcement with Seize the Awkward, a national campaign encouraging young people to talk to their friends about mental health. “I’ve always been told I’ve gotta be strong,” Megan Thee Stallion, whose offstage name is Megan Pete, said in a video for the campaign. “The truth is that people have wildly different experiences depending on their identities, and types of sociopolitical oppression they go through.”That Megan Thee Stallion is speaking about mental health publicly “is forcing the conversation to go mainstream,” he added.

Wellington has historically taken a more conciliatory approach towards China than Australia or its other Five Eyes security partners. “Building of North Asia (markets) and the building of Southeast Asia (markets) is really, really crucial because it's de-risks that dependency,” Talbot said. In the movie “Moneyball,” Peter Brand, a baseball analyst played by Jonah Hill, has a mantra for the type of player his team covets. “He gets on base,” Brand says when his boss points at him. The movie, like the Michael Lewis book upon which it is based, is about the rise of sabermetrics in Major League Baseball. It is the story of a group of outsiders who take on the baseball establishment by following a core belief rooted in an expression you can hear at any Little League game: A walk is as good as a hit. The math of the strategy is easy enough to explain.

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration announced on Monday that it would seek to require airlines to compensate passengers for extensive flight delays and cancellations. The proposed rule would require airlines to provide cash payments rather than merely refunds for significant travel disruptions that were within the airline’s control. No airline currently guarantees cash compensation for delays or cancellations in the United States, according to the Transportation Department. “When an airline causes a flight cancellation or delay, passengers should not foot the bill,” Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary, said in a statement. “This rule would, for the first time in U.S. history, propose to require airlines to compensate passengers and cover expenses such as meals, hotels and rebooking in cases where the airline has caused a cancellation or significant delay.”Mr. Buttigieg and President Biden are scheduled to hold an event at the White House on Monday afternoon to promote the plan.

Roman’s initial response is to troll, by making a snide comment about the “incredibly evolved, ruthlessly segregated” community of Los Angeles. But Kendall is excited about them putting their own stamp on Waystar, and thinks these two firings may impress the markets. It’s a reasonable assumption too, because Kendall is in full Icarus mode throughout this episode. There are few things more entertaining in “Succession” than Kendall in a boss groove, tossing out big ideas and buzzy business jargon at a rapid clip. (“Numbers aren’t just numbers, they’re numbers,” Pete sputters.)
CNN —Megan Thee Stallion is moving forward. The “Savage” rapper, whose legal name is Megan Pete, published an essay on Tuesday for Elle Magazine in which she detailed her healing journey after she was shot in the feet by rapper Tory Lanez in July of 2020. “As I reflect on the past three years, I view myself as a survivor, because I have truly survived the unimaginable,” Pete penned. In December, Pete testified during the trial and a Los Angeles jury ultimately found Lanez guilty, convicting him on all three counts. “I’m ready to show everybody that all the dirt they threw at me didn’t stick,” she said.
