YouTube will also integrate generative AI text and image output into an “Inspiration” feature for creators, which is intended to feed them suggestions and examples for video content. Mohan said that 92% of YouTube creators already use AI tools. The new AI video creation tool is called “Veo.” Creators will input text prompts to create AI images, which can then become the basis of the six-second clips. Mohan teased it with an AI-generated video of a dog and a sheep becoming friends. YouTube is the latest platform to announce AI-generated video capabilities, following demos from OpenAI of their text-to-video technology Sora.

In conversations about these phenomena, social media has consistently been at the center, though mental health issues can have multiple contributing factors. Those with depression were more susceptible to social comparison and pressure to show their best selves on social media. Many young people reported an inability to control their use, social media distracting from other activities and unconsciously reaching for social media when bored. Ask the teens in your life what they like about these platforms and what types of connections or activities support their mental health, Lenhart said. Let them know you’re there to help figure out a solution if social media is upsetting them or interfering with other responsibilities.

Eight Bronx men were charged on Wednesday with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of beer, mostly Modelo and Corona imported from Mexico, by robbing train yards and warehouses in dozens of thefts across the Northeast over the past two years. An indictment unsealed by federal prosecutors in Manhattan accuses Jose Cesari as being the mastermind of what it describes as the “Beer Theft Enterprise” and says he recruited other participants in the brazen heists via Instagram posts. In one post, the indictment says, Mr. Cesari wrote, “Need workers who want to make money.” The post had a “Yes” or “No” button, a moneybag emoji and a railroad track in the background, the indictment says. In another, the indictment says, he offered a “guarantee” that those he hired would “make 100k+ in a month” by following the “beer train method.”Mr. Cesari, 27, who was at large on Wednesday, was charged with conspiracy to steal from interstate or foreign shipments by carrier and six other counts. The seven others face the same conspiracy charge, and several were also charged with other crimes.

The electric 1,093-horsepower Taycan Turbo GT, coming to market this summer, has already set two race track speed record for an electric car. High horsepower numbers and eye-popping acceleration are more common among electric cars than gasoline-powered ones, especially since EVs can have multiple motors. This Turbo GT, a new version of the electric Porsche Taycan, features two motors. One, the standard Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, will be fast but reasonably comfortable for street driving. The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, though, will dispense with backseats and other comfort items to save weight.

Well, if you’ve ever bought stuff online and received free shipping or returns, you’ve also been a little bit of a jerk — and now it’s time to pay up. Fast, free shipping and easy, no-cost returns have become a baseline expectation in the modern online shopping experience. Instead of fighting for market share by offering free shipping and no-hassle returns, retailers are trying to squeeze more money out of every transaction. Free shipping is not actually free . Returns are a necessary and inevitable part of online shopping.

Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr noted that the costs of repairs of an electric vehicle are also much higher. Scherr’s statements echoed findings by insurance analysts at LexisNexis who found that, when vehicle owners switch from gasoline-powered cars to electric cars, they tend to crash more. Drivers also tend to crash somewhat more when switching to gas-powered vehicles, too, but the increase is more pronounced with EVs. Mostly a Tesla thingIn both cases – with Hertz and with LexisNexis – “electric vehicles” largely means Teslas. That suggests there may be something about Teslas that’s causing people to crash more than other cars.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House said Tuesday that “prudent contingency planning” is underway to evacuate Americans from the Middle East in case the Israel-Hamas war spreads into a broad regional conflict. “And certainly evacuations are one of those things.”The White House addressed the contingency plans amid growing concerns that the 18-day-old Israel-Hamas war could further escalate. “The two leaders agreed on pursuing broader diplomatic efforts to maintain stability across the region and prevent the conflict from expanding,” the White House added. Many people and groups have filed online comments about the proposed rules. A man in Eugene, Ore., wrote that to cancel TextNow, an app offering messaging and calling services, he ultimately had to persuade his credit union to cut off monthly withdrawals from his account. At issue is the use of “negative option” plans, which presume that consumers accept an offer unless they affirmatively decline it — like a free trial that continues as a paying subscription. advises consumers to put a calendar reminder in their phones when they sign up for a free trial so they will be alerted when it is time to cancel. to require companies to notify customers before each recurring charge, and to remind them that they can cancel if they choose.

When you open the app, you’ll see noise levels immediately in large numerals. Leave the app open for several minutes — the “Total Run Time” line tracks how long it has been collecting sound readings. When it comes to interpreting your sound exposure, the decibel figure on the “LAeq” line will be the most useful. A 15-minute recording is likely to represent the average noise exposure for the hour, said Edmund Seto, an associate professor of environmental health at the University of Washington who is studying noise across America. What those numbers meanThe health risks of noise exposure can be hard to interpret since they differ based on source and sound qualities.
