“In international relations, all politics is personal,” Biden said during a visit to South Korea in 2013. Just after touching down in the U.K. Wednesday, Biden told service members at a Royal Air Force station in Mildenhall that he’d visited “well over 100 countries” as a senator and vice president. Biden offered: “Possibilities.”“Personal relationships are the only vehicle by which you build trust,” Biden told Xi two years later when he returned for more meetings in Beijing. There’s a risk, though, of focusing on the personal at the expense of the substance. But Biden has often told the story of his last-known face-to-face meeting with Putin, telling him bluntly that he “has no soul.”“We understand each other,” Biden says Putin replied.

After enjoying a successful run in Miami Beach from late November through January, “The Seven Deadly Sins,” an outdoor theatrical anthology series that explores humanity’s basest impulses, will come to New York. Performances are scheduled to begin on June 23 and will take place in storefront windows in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. “I think it was important for us to do it in this moment of transition,” said Moisés Kaufman, the founder and artistic director of Tectonic Theater Project, which is producing the show with Madison Wells Live in association with Miami New Drama. Moisés Kaufman will also contribute a piece to the anthology and direct the production. “We really wanted the event to not be a revival of an existing play,” Kaufman said in an interview on Wednesday.

Denmark went so far as to cull 17 million minks in November in response to outbreaks at more than 200 mink farms. The northern region of the country, where most fur farms lie, was placed under strict lockdowns. And across the Atlantic, mink farms in the U.S. are seeing Covid-19 spread and deaths of their own. At fur farms, minks are densely packed in conditions ripe for close contact with one another. Culling is often the answer when data on animal spread is inconclusive.
