11 NC State to the Final Four of the 2024 NCAA men’s tournament, beating a host of highly-seeded teams on the way to a semifinal spot. The NC State star grew up around people from different backgrounds, with his grandmother running a foster home and his parents taking in other children from unstable homes. But, with Burns at center and the team’s underdog mentality, they have shocked the college basketball scene. “I was raised in a happy environment,” the NC State told reporters. While becoming an internet sensation throughout March Madness, Burns' competitve nature has helped NC State to some impressive victories.

Washington CNN —Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu grabbed Brett McGurk’s arm as he walked out of a tense meeting of the Israeli Cabinet over securing the release of hostages Hamas was holding in Gaza. Hamas – after refusing for days – had relented in offering identifying information about several dozen hostages, such as their age, gender and nationalities. It laid out how women and children would leave in the first phase, as well as incentives for Hamas to release more hostages beyond that. On October 24, Hamas appeared to agree to the parameters of a deal to release women and children hostages. Hamas would only guarantee 50 and refused to produce identifying information about the hostages.

CNN —Bayern Munich crashed out of the German Cup following a shock 2-1 defeat deep into stoppage time against third-tier FC Saarbrücken on Wednesday. Marcel Gaus scored the winning goal for Saarbrücken in the 96th minute, converting a low cross to spark delirium among the home fans. Bayern gave up possession after sloppy play at the back, and several Saarbrücken passes later, Patrick Sontheimer had a simple finish to make it 1-1 at Ludwigsparkstadion. As the game moved into stoppage time, substitute Tim Civeja found space behind the Bayern defense and crossed to Gaus, who netted an unlikely winning goal for Saarbrücken. Bayern had one last chance through Gnabry, but his shot was blocked and Saarbrücken could celebrate a famous win and a place in the third round of the German Cup.

Where is Silicon Valley's J. Pierpont Morgan?

After withdrawals lashed the banking system in 1907, financier J. Pierpont Morgan corraled his peers into using their own money to calm the crisis. The contrast with Silicon Valley – which is also embroiled in the ongoing firestorm – couldn’t be more stark. Startup and technology firms’ cash crunch precipitated the fall of Silicon Valley Bank and its parent SVB Financial (SIVB.O), which in turn sparked panic in the financial system. Silicon Valley is fragmented and built on an individualistic ethos. Real, toothsome regulation might force Silicon Valley’s great minds to realize how interconnected their ecosystem is.
