At first, they started running their side hustle ideas past ChatGPT, using the generative artificial intelligence chatbot as a starting point for market research. In March, they decided to create an AI-powered research tool: Fill out a form about your idea, and the tool would input your answers to ChatGPT in a maximally helpful way. In roughly seven months, DimeADozen — split evenly between Aiello and Powers — brought in more than $66,000, according to documents reviewed by CNBC Make It. Aeillo and Powers plan to keep working roughly five hours per week on it as company advisors.

Approximately 41% of companies do not have a succession plan for their CISO, according to a report from executive recruiting firm Heidrick & Struggles. "We consider not having a CISO succession plan to be a serious material risk that companies can easily mitigate," said Matt Aiello, partner and global cybersecurity practice leader at Heidrick & Struggles. "The lack of a successor could disrupt business-as-usual cybersecurity operations, resulting in delays, gaps in critical cyber risk management activities, and hindered cyber incident response and decision-making," Soo said. "Lack of proper succession planning could result in disruption throughout an organization," he said. CISO succession planning should also involve anticipating future security requirements by considering the evolving nature of the business and technology landscape.

NYT's DealBook reported on Monday that Altice USA tapped Goldman Sachs to explore a possible sale. NYT reporters Lauren Hirsch and Ben Mullin noted a sale isn't a foregone conclusion and Altice USA could decide not to proceed. Spokespersons for Altice USA did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment on Monday morning and a spokesperson for Goldman Sachs had no comment. "Global uncertainty is what is impacting M&A most - it just makes people uncomfortable. It's easier to say, I'll pass on a deal - nobody gets fired for passing on a deal. M&A volumes in the United States declined by 30% to $318.4 billion, while Europe and Asia Pacific volumes shrank 49% and 24% respectively. Russia appears to have doubled the number of trained dolphins defending its Black Sea fleet. The dolphins at the naval base in Sevastopol are trained to detect Ukrainian special forces divers. Satellite imagery at the time captured by Maxar Technologies shows two pens containing the trained dolphins. This comes after several drone attacks targeting Russia's ships in the area, as Ukrainian forces launched their recent counteroffensive in the long-running conflict. The Black Sea peninsula was invaded by Russian forces and illegally annexed by Putin in 2014.

The collision was likely unintentional, and former US naval aviators say that it could point to problems with Russian fighter pilots. A State Department official said it "probably was the result of profound incompetence on the part of one of these Russian pilots." Russian military failures in Ukraine have altered this view, he continued, "and now, you've got something like this." Benchmark EU carbon permit prices hit 100 euros per tonne of CO2 on Tuesday, the highest since the scheme launched in 2005. The largest project being developed in the Netherlands secured national funding to bridge the gap between costs and the CO2 price. The United States does not have a nationwide carbon price, although states including California do. An EU carbon price of 100 euros adds 30-40 euros to the cost of a tonne of primary steel production, according to Eurofer. The US Navy has been training dolphins and sea lions to detect undersea threats since the 1960s. "Those mammals were very real and very scary," a former US Navy SEAL officer told Insider. The program tested out a number of animals but found dolphins and sea lions to be the best suited for the mission. The US military wasn't the only one using dolphins and sea lions to protect its warships and ports.
